going underground

i spotted the rob ryan london fashion week poster at notting hill underground today, and it looked fantastic!

for those not in the know (or those of you who’ve spotted cool fashion illustrations at your local tube station and wondered what they were in aid of) elle has teamed up with tfl as part of their special london issue (on sale now peeps!) commissioning 25 of the people who have helped shape british fashion – from barbara hulanicki and christopher bailey to henry holland and clements riberio – to create one-off posters for display at central london stations during september. i think this is a wonderful project, and i love how each of the images reflects the work of it’s creator, representing their london.

london mayor boris johnson says: “london produces some of the best and most cutting edge designers in the world, which is why we’ve teamed up with elle to celebrate 25 years of london fashion week on the underground. as these terrific images by some of our most revered designers and style icons show, london is the place to be for fashion.”

i can’t wait to spot some more on my ventures across the capital this week!
