whenever i’m in need of some inspiration i like to turn to the portfolios of my favourite stylists, whose beautifully styled room sets and still life shots inspire me to keep working away in the profession, trying to find a niche for myself.
australian stylist glen proebstel is one of my favourites and i am often in awe of the tranquility he creates in his set-ups, and the quiet interplay between the objects that he uses. his style is wonderfully organic, and i am particularly drawn to the layering of fabrics within his sets, which always look so beautiful yet perfectly natural, as if the creases and folds have just fallen that way the moment they were placed. i know from experience how incredibly difficult it is to create the perfect ‘messy bed’ or crinkled table-linen for a shot, so i am always enthralled when i see such styling executed with such beauty.

ohh.. the first picture is my fav!!!
Exquisite. I adore the roses and that lovely bedroom with the red bed.
I can certainly see why you find this chap inspiring. His styling is refined and sumptuous, but subtly so. He seems to know when it’s just right to stop. And oh, the textures…
Your pictures are simply beautiful i really enjoyed the ones with all the white in them. They remind me of spring. Great blog.
