the afternoon tease

two dear friends of mine took me to the most adorable coffee shop this past weekend.

the haberdashery coffee house in crouch end is a delightful little find, with an eclectic range of vintage crockery, mis-matched furniture and a mosaic wall of victorian fireplace tiles for a charming rustic feel. the coffee is served french-style in cafe au lait bowls, their muffins baked in plant pots, and the hot spiced apple juice (delicious!) inΒ  signature blue mugs. we also treated ourselves to a sneaky slice of salted caramel pear cake which was a good as it sounds; soft and moist and deliciously decadent.

on the first friday of every month the venue hosts a “bar boot”, which turns the coffee house into a colourful and kaleidoscopic bazaar with community artists, craftspeople and vintage sellers. the next event is this friday, 5th november, from 7pm.
