i’m really keen to test out the the products of new natural cleaning company tincture, whose clean minimal packaging and elegantly styled photography caught my eye recently. as soon as i began reading into their story and brand mission statement, i knew i wanted to get my hands on some product to trial!

formulated and manufactured in norfolk, tincture uses only sustainable ingredients of a high quality that are carefully selected to produce efficiency in cleaning and to promote wellbeing in the home. the brand draws inspiration from monastic knowledge of active botanical ingredients and cleaning rituals from all over the world, and through this holistic approach are seeking to introduce the concept of “home cleaning meets wellbeing.”

we wanted to create a superior all-natural cleaning product range that would not compromise on the health and wellbeing of the user or the environment. tincture enhances the experience of household cleaning, creating a cleansing journey akin to a therapeutic spa experience as well as looking subtle and stylish in any home. ~ angelika davenport

tincture was founded by sisters angelika and anastasia, after a search for high-performance, non-toxic cleaning products that were safe to use around their children without exacerbating common conditions such as eczema or asthma, came up empty handed.

the resulting recipes utilise concentrated essences of active botanical ingredients, developed over several years in collaboration with a team of experienced chemists and laboratories, to carefully balance and perfect the formulations to contain only the absolute essential, while still delivering exceptional results. all of the natural ingredients used in tincture’s formulations include herbs and plants renowned for their antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, detoxifications and soothing properties to not only offer non-aggressive cleaning solutions, but also promote and enhance wellbeing.

every ingredient has been carefully chosen for their inherent characteristics and properties to ensure it is of benefit to the performance of the product, and since fragrance does not enhance the ability of the product to clean, none has been added. the natural scent of every tincture product derives purely from the inclusion of active botanicals, each included for their antimicrobial properties.

all products in the tincture range have been independently tested by real people in real home environments for their effectiveness, performance and over-all effect on mood and wellbeing. just reading about the brand’s ethos and philosophies has led me to believe my wellbeing would be improved by incorporating these products into my home cleaning regime – plus those bottles would look mighty fine on the laundry room shelf, don’t you agree?

as our environments are becoming ever more polluted by chemicals, artificial scents and toxic ingredients, tincture returns us to an age when natural plants were used for their protective and medicinal properties for cleansing, an era where knowledge of the scientific properties of botanical plants were garnered over time and used with wisdom. ~ anastasia brozler

tincture products are available to buy direct through their website and will be stocked in select john lewis branches in early 2017.
