i went to the most amazing props hire shop today.
the lacquer chest on kensington church street is a five-storey treasure trove of a shop, over-spilling with enchanting finds, from vintage tea-sets, gloriously colourful glassware, fifties retro advertising and packaging, first-edition hardbacks, dog-eared penguins, the list goes on and on. a true gem of a shop, the basement runs underneath the street outside, with products housed in the small caverns and light spilling in through the glass tiles in the pavement above. i spent about an hour moving from room to room, ooohing and aaahing as i came across more and more loveliness.
