it’s hard to believe we are back here again; another year older, perhaps another year wiser…
two years ago i treated myself on my birthday by turning the tables round on you, my truly wonderful readers, and i was wondering if you would permit me to do the same again today?
were you here reading this blog two years ago? or are you a complete newcomer to fabric of my life? and, most importantly – just who are you??
because to me, you are the most important people – the people i post for, the people i connect with – and i would love for you to introduce yourselves and provide a little snapshot of your life. what are you doing right now? what is rocking your world?
go on, indulge me a little…

I’m just a girl – reading your blog – and loving it! Unfortunately 2 years ago I had not yet come across your blog. In fact, I was still in university and had no idea what a blog was! (Oh how I’ve been missing out all these years!) Now, I work for Plumbs, and amongst my busy schedule I collaborate and present the best in home decor and design ideas and tips for our own blog. It’s a small readership so far but I’m hoping with my youthful enthusiasm to change that!
I’ve been scouting out the very best in design and home decor blogs, searching for inspiration (and enjoying a good old peruse for my own personal tastes as well as work!) What I love about your blog is the eclectic mix of posts and the beautiful finds you write about. I’m brand new to the blogging world and hope to be able to contribute some good, unbiased information and tips to create beautiful homes for all of us! (again with the youthful enthusiasm!)
Keep up the great posts!
Hannah
thanks so much Hannah – what wonderful kind words about FOML! it is definitely an exciting time for the world of online and bloggers in particular, and I’m sure you’ll find your feet and your niche, keep plugging away, writing about what you love and i’m sure you’ll make a success of it!
I’m headed over now to check out your blog… :)
Hi,
I’m Amy and found you toward the end of last year. If I’m honest I’m not really sure how I ‘found’ you but that tends to be the organic nature of blogging. Snapshot of life…erm well we are in the later part of renovating {and I do mean renovating, not just a little decorating} our Victorian terrace on the outskirts of London. Then begins the long-term tweaking and creating of a home, which seems rather fun and relaxed after the stress of ‘big’ house works. I am practically 35 weeks pregnant {although 34 weeks and 5 days if you want to be precise} and hoping to meet baby H around 10th March and not a moment over as I’m aimming for a homebirth not a hospital induction. It’s our first baby and we aren’t married though it {the baby} was planned. Marriage isn’t something I feel we particularly need although I find myself looking at little pretty silver bands for my ‘ring’ fingers with growing frequency, you know just to make me look less ‘single mum, possible slut’ like.
Amy x
oh wow Amy, sounds like you have a lot going on! and congrats on baby H, bet you must be super excited – not long to go now!
and yeah, know what you mean about the organic nature of blogging – you can lose hours online and completely lose track of the path you’ve taken through numerous enchanting and inspiring blogs and websites! x
Happy belated birthday to you! I hope it was a lovely one :)

thanks Ferron, it was pretty great though a tad on the cold side! brrr, where did this weather come from..?
Happy belated Birthday Kate.
I’ve probably been following you for about a year now and I think you are one of the best UK interior bloggers. Having started my little webshop your blog is a great place to get an idea of what is trending in the UK.
On a personal level:
Overplayed on Spotify: Lana Del Rey’s new album
Trying to persuade my OH to paint our bedroom :)
aww, bless! thank you so much Marianne! *blush*
I’m a big fan of your webshop as well, so much beautiful nordic design! :)
Oh, and I must check out Lana Del Rey’s album, been hearing lots of good things about it…
Hi,
I just discovered your blog today via a link from Rockett St. George’s blog. I am spending a lazy Saturday catching up on marketing for my greetings cards line. Your blog provided a lush diversion. I won’t feel guilty about spending a little time here looking around, as it can be considered ‘research’ and ‘inspiration’. Thanks! :)
Happy belated birthday, btw.
