i cannot believe blogtour is now just over a week away!
naturally i’m getting annoyingly excited now, so please accept my apologies for the enormous amount of blogtour squeeeing i’ll be doing on here over the next few weeks – it really is to be expected though!
first up, i thought i should introduce the organisers of this wonderful event – modenus (i really cannot thank veronika and tim enough for selecting my to be a part of the tour!). modenus is a networking platform and resource catalog for the interior design community, where design professionals and anyone else passionate about interior design can connect in online forums, find inspiration in daily blog postss, “before” & “after” interior design submissions and live event coverage.
live event coverage is one of the main reasons for our little nyc jaunt; to visit and report from the architectural digest home design show at new york’s pier 94. yes, i’ve been to maison, stockholm and woonbeurs in recent months but everyone keeps saying that there is something truly special about the ad show, and i’m really excited to see how north american design fairs compare to those on the continent.
one section i’m really keen to visit is made, especially after reading veronika’s write up over on modenus. apparently this will be the fifth year the ad show has created a space for individual artists and designers of one off and limited edition objects and furnishings, and it promises to be the place for surprises, extraordinary workmanship and work created with love and dedication. the pieces are also available for sale, so perhaps i need to dig out a really huge suitcase for the trip…?
blogtour nyc sponsors include: miele, samuel heath, rotsen furniture, scholtes, du verre, mmpi (organisers of ad show 2012), blanco america, poggenpohl, spirit of sports, victoria and albert baths, jenn air, big ass fans, modern aire, vitra, wallunica and mix magazine.
