Fabric of my Life.

prejudgement

i recieved the most wonderful package in the post this weekend, introducing me to a friend of a friend’s new bespoke stationery company, natmaks.

creating paper designs specific to the person, occasion or each individual present she is wrapping,  camberwell college of arts graduate natascha maksimovic knows that while we are all urged not to judge a book by its cover, we all judge presents by their wrapping! and if the wrapping of my delightful parcel is anything to go by, natascha’s presents are the very best!

i’m one of those annoying people who takes forever to unwrap a gift, savouring the ribbon and trims encasing a package, luxuriating in the weight of the paper, prolonging the suspense by gently peeling back the tape on all sides… so, naturally, opening the natmaks press pack was a dream!

inside were carefully selected examples of natascha’s work, which reflect old paper traditions from hand screen printing to folding envelopes and using wax seals, combined with aspects of modern design and stylish typography. i particularly loved her balloon series, which she is developing into limited edition runs for 2013, as well as the adorable tweet range. printed onto 100% recycled paper with a good weight and luxury feel, it was great to discover that natascha is dedicated to sourcing her paper and materials responsibly – it makes the gift giving experience all the more poignant to know that the wrapping has been given that extra special touch of tlc, right?

i wonder which designs her celebrity clients (including ridley scott and the *incredible* archie panjabi from the good wife – fab show!) would opt for?
