top of my wanderlust wishlist for 2013 is a trip to helsinki, and what better way to arrive in the finnish capital than flying business class with finnair, where they serve in-flight meals on marimekko’s bold and colourful tableware. synonymous with classic finnish design and heritage, finnair hope that their collaboration with marimekko will ‘bring to hectic and often grey air travel joy, peace of mind and beautiful memories.’
‘our goal is to become a design airline, and bring our customers unique experiences for all five senses’ says finnair ceo mika vehviläinen, ‘finnair aircraft will become roving ambassadors of timeless finnish design and creativity, giving our customers a special experience when they fly with us.’
and if the lure of these delightful prints doesn’t get your heart racing, then try watching this beautiful and evocative video; you’ll be booking your flight pronto…

Thanks for sharing this. I’ve had a love for Marimekko designs for years. Flying with Finnair and being surrounded by their designs would be a fab way to go to Finland.
