pattern’s playground

kauniste

i’m still working through my piles of press material from the fantastic home london show a few weeks ago, such was the quanity and quality of the talent i saw there!

one stand i was incredibly happy to spot at the show was that of finnish design collaborative kauniste, who unite the talents of young scandinavian graphic designers and craftsmen to create fresh patterns using traditional screen printing skills. drawn onto the stand by an instant love of the pink sokeri pattern by hanna konola, which adorned an array of linen tote bags, cushions, tea towels and trays, i also found myself very taken with bjørn rune lie’s metsä print, inspired by his native norwegian forests.

which kauniste print is taking your fancy?
