if you’re still searching for the perfect mother’s day gift, then look no further than a beautifully quirky screen printed delight from british duo, thornback & peel.

i was lucky enough to be invited along to their studio at cockpit arts yesterday for a little screen printing session, and meet juliet thornback and delia peel in person – two of the loveliest people you will ever meet! not only did they open their studio to a gaggle of overexcited journalists and bloggers and let them loose with printing inks, they then proceeded to host an intimate dinner in their nearby flagship store, serving up delicious (and homemade!) salads followed by meringues with fresh berries and whipped cream – yum!

having never screen printed before i was excited to try my hand first at printing a gift card, and then printing my very own cushion, using one of thornbeck & peel’s instantly recognisable rabbits. despite my nerves, i was so happy my first attempt on fabric turned out so well, and that my ink didn’t splodge everywhere!

once printed, the fabulous t&p ladies whipped my little rabbit friend (who i’ve named barnaby) away and before i knew it, i had an adorable cushion to take home with me, to take pride of place in my bedroom. isn’t he just adorable?!
