having fallen for self-adhesive bathroom tiles last week, i got to thinking about quick and easy ways to bring the art of floor tiling into the home in a cost-effective way that doesn’t scrimp on impact.
when carpetright suggested vinyl floor tiles to me i was instantly transported back to the kitchen in my childhood home, decorated in the mid-eighties, and wondered why it was that vinyl flooring seems to have fallen out favour in recent times? perfect for a bustling family home and rooms with a lot of foot traffic, vinyl flooring really stands up against the everyday wear and tear of busy family life – indeed, the aforementioned vinyl in my parent’s kitchen is still there all these years later, standing the test of time!
i love the sleek black mini-tile vinyl in the loft-style kitchen above, which works fabulously well against all the modern chrome accents and industrial styling, don’t you think? vinyl tiles are also great for bathrooms as they are water and slip-resistant, and i’m a big fan of the natural stone effect tiles below which look very much like the real deal – without the hefty price tag attached!
what do think, would you use vinyl flooring in your home?
