sofas for loafers

Loaf-lounge - 1

have you seen the new loaf winter collections yet?

there’s a fabulous array of new products that have just landed on the site, including some fabulous new rugs which are making my heart sing (the sails rug inspired by swedish boat house is a particular favourite) and the stylish reclaimed fir timber loafian coffee table and matching little loafian side table.

one thing that i really love about the loaf website is that they have a special page dedicated to “shopping the look” where you can quickly and easily find all the the products featured in their gorgeous styled shots – super handy, right?  so, inspired by these fabulous round-ups, i decided to pull together my own mix of products to create the perfect lounge and bedroom to loaf around in…

(p.s. isn’t “loaf” such a fantastic term for lazing about..?!)

another piece i spied that would work wonderfully in either of my roomsets is this stunning rocker rocking chair, which is made of weathered birch wood with handwoven rattan and gives a very nostalgic piece of furniture a contemporary scandi-inspired makeover.

and guess what? the lovely people over at loaf are offering readers of fabricofmylife the chance to win one themselves!

  25. Such a beautiful collection, if I were to be lucky enough the chair would live in my bedroom!

  175. I’d put the chair in the bay window in my bedroom, amazing to sit / rock there, reading books and watching the world go by

    Night time feeding bliss!

  179. This would have to go in my living room, to rock myself when I am having trouble sleeping!

  180. Oh it’s lovely. I would place it in my bedroom in the walk-in bay window overlooking the countrside fields. I could just loaf around on it, catch up with a spot of reading or do some crochet.

  181. I can just see this in my lovely warm attic on a winter’s day with a blanket and looking out over the city. Bliss!

  182. This chair would look perfect in my newly decorated spare room. Perfect to escape to with a good book for a bit chill out time.

  195. I would put in in my living room so I could relax in luxury enjoying the views of the River Humber :)

  196. I WOULD PUT THIS IN MY CONSERVATORY. IT WOULD LOOK GREAT IN THERE AND I COULD SIT THERE AND READ.

  197. In my baby’s nursery, I’m 15 weeks pregnant and this would be ideal when the baby gets here x

  198. I would be generous and put it in my partners office so he can have a relax and look at the river outside our window when working. Hopefully he won’t fall asleep!

  199. The rocker has just dropped off my rocking chair and it can’t be fixed. Having “me” time in my summerhouse with a book and a coffee and my rocker…stops me going off mine!! Good luck everyone :-)

  202. I’d love this chair to use both in my sunny front room and in the baby’s bedroom upstairs. It looks so stylish and comfy.

  203. What a wonderful modern design of a traditional rocking chair. So many places I would like that chair, in the Summer it would have to be the conservatory to enjoy the garden and hopefully the SUN! In the winter, either the kitchen to sit and smell the ‘food’ in the warmth or in the bedroom to read a book / kindle.

  204. In the front room in winter, by the log burner nice and cosy and in the conservatory in summer. Both involve feet up and a good book.

  212. Looks like a lovely chair to share with a good book. I have a snug little corner in my bedroom that it would be perfect in.

  213. I’d have it in my living room so I could sit and knit or read in the evenings in comfort

  214. I would actually place this at my sons house, in my grandaughter’s bedroom, so that I could read her a bedtime story everytime I visit (& I would let them do the same when I am not there!)

  215. Just bought our first family home. It has beautiful bay windows and the Rocker would go beautifully in the bedroom whilst nursing or in the back living room (which will be my reading/sewing room – I love to quilt) which has patio doors overlooking the garden. I’ll keep fingers crossed x

While rocking gently to the beat in time.

A really lovely chair with lot’s of style,
    It’s modern and contemporary,
But will match in all the while.

I can see me in it now reading a good book,
Before bedtime in the glow of my lamp’
In my little Music and reading Nook.

    (Tweeted @firestar_louise)

  234. I would put it in the dining room away from the tv where I could sit, rock and read my book in peace

  235. Hello! The chair is lovely. I would put it in my little girls room so we could sit in it together to read.
    Thank you.

  236. This chair is lovely. I would place it in the nursery so I can rock my baby to sleep or relax in it whilst feeding her.

  237. It would go in the lounge. Would look very nice and might help me get the new addition to the family off to sleep a bit easier. Xx

  238. I would put this in my lounge near the fire,so I can snuggle up with a nice cosy blanket near the warm fire and rock myself to sleep :-)

  239. I would place the beautiful Loaf Rocker Rocking Chair in my bedroom ,it would match my room perfectly.

  242. I would love this for my baby’s nursery, she just loves being rocked to sleep and it would save my poor knees from standing and rocking!

  243. I’d love to place the chair in the sitting area near the fireplace and use it for endless reading during the winter

  244. I would love this for my baby’s nursery. He’s due in January and I bought an old rocking chair for his room with the intention of sanding and painting it…I didn’t account for the fact that when you rock the arm comes loose and you fall sideways off the chair in a not too dignified manner. This would be brilliant as a replacement nursing chair.

  245. This would go lovely our my landing in the bay window overlooking our wonderful views of the mendip hills!

  246. I’d put it in the conservatory so that i can enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside

  247. I’d put it in the lounge so I could sit in it and listen to music on a stressful day

  248. I would have to put this in the living room, until the conservatory was built specially for it.

  253. I would keep it in my bedroom – a place to go and chill and read a book – peace and quiet. I love this chair.

  259. I would give this chair to my dad to put in his lounge. He is 89 next month and still as active as ever (plays badminton once a week!!) so maybe I could get him to slow down (just a tad) by encouraging him to relax in this lovely chair.

  260. When I move house this chair would make me feel at home in whichever room I put it in!

  261. Back room so I can sit there with the French doors open watching the sun go down, in the summer of course. In the winter it would be great to have it in front of a hot wood burner which I don’t own yet.

  262. My nan is having to move in with my aunts family and I’d love to give this to her to put in her new sitting room

  263. Right by the patio door of the lounge which leads out to the deck. In winter I can be inside in the warm watching the outdoors. In summer I will drag it outside to enjoy the sunshine and views whilst rocking and occasionally dozing

  264. I’d put this lovely chair in the bedroom that I will have once I’ve stripped all the really sticky wallpaper off the walls, had the holey ceiling re-plastered and chiselled all the awful tiles off the floor, sanded and painted the floor boards.

After all that I’ll need a sit down. Phew.

  265. Probably have to build a Veranda to put it on, nothing better than watching the sun go down while sitting in a rocking chair talking about everything and nothing

  266. I’ve just moved into a new flat. It’s pretty cosy so we’re turning the lounge into a snug. No furniture yet though, but can’t wait for cosy wintery nights in there! This chair would be the perfect finishing touch :)

  267. i would put it by my window, where i can see the sea, and i would sit there with a blanket, hot chocolate and a book.

  278. Catching up with posts as the winter night’s draw in
I see Fabric of My Life has a great competition
To win Loaf’s new rocker rocking chair
So I’ll answer this with style and flair

I’d sit with my gorgeous girl in her bedroom
Having cuddles, reading and singing tunes
We’ll talk about the world as eyes start to close
Dream of the future; all content and doze

  283. I would love to sit in this and look out over the fields that back onto our house its a relaxing sight ar the best of times this chair would just make it perfect.

  284. Maybe the bathroom..Snuggled up in a warm bathrobe and soft Loaf towels after a luxurious bubble bath…rocking in this rocker would be wonderful…

  286. As I have just reached 50 I think this is the only rocking I will be doing from now on.

  287. I’d put it in my reading corner in the living room. It would be so nice to relax on this with a blanket, a book and a cup of tea Have also tweeted @NaomiSFB

  288. oh wow that is stunning and if i was so lucky enough to win then id sit next to the window gazing out on the cold winters day while sewing and sipping a cup of tea and then in the evening rocking and reading to the kids while there sat next to the open fire drinking milky hot chocolates before bed,oh that would be bliss, thank you for the chance x

  289. We have a lovely cosy, homely sitting area as part of our family room/kitchen. Guests often don’t make it to the lounge as we all hang out in this lovely comfy place. There is room for a rocking chair – how perfect would the Loaf Rocker be?! Gorgeous.

  290. You’ve heard of a man cave?! I have a girly grotto and this rocking chair would look gorgous in it. Of course the rest of the family could use it. For a small fee!

  291. I am hoping to move into my first home soon and I plan to decorate it similar to the loaf lounge that’s dressed in the first photo of this page — got a scrapbook for all my design ideas in readiness. An elegant rocking chair would fit right in and is a differential I hadn’t thought to introduce. Fingers crossed.

  300. This lovely rocking chair would fit like a glove in my bedroom and then I could sit, read, rock and relax in comfort and style.

  301. I would put it in my sons bedroom for when he wakes up on a night and needs cuddling back to sleep

  302. This would be a fabulous piece for my bedroom. The best place to read a book and rock away the stresses and strains of the day.

  303. I would put it in the kitchen to relax with a glass of wine while my husband cooks the dinner

  304. I would place this in my dressing room where i spend time reading books, getting ready and would love to have this to sit in. amazing prize. x

  305. Love to win this and place it in my lounge near the woodburner fire, so I could rock and warm myself and my heart as I dream of good times. x
