another lovely presentation from salone del mobile that i’ve spied across the blogosphere the past few days is fritz hansen‘s revival of a “quiet” design classic; the arne jacobsen drop chair.
first released in 1958, this midcentury classic was initially produced exclusively for the copenhagen radisson sas royal hotel’s bar and lobby, with the tear-shaped design taking inspiration from the curves of the human body. jacobsen’s design has been given a new lease of life for 2014 through updated production methods and modern materials, and is now available with textile or leather upholstery, and chrome or powder-coated legs.
isn’t the ice-cream colour palette shown in these images just delectable?
