Fabric of my Life.

Le petit calepin

emeline carre 01

those of you reading this post on your desktops will have noticed the blog’s had a little bit of a face-lift this past weekend (if you’re reading on bloglovin’ or rss you may want to click over and have a peek…)

i can hardly believe it, but this little blog will be celebrating it’s fifth birthday later this week, so i thought i’d spruce up the layout a bit as well to honour the occasion, as commissioning a lovely friend of mine, emeline carré, to create a new profile pic and header for the site. what do you think?

i love emeline’s portfolio of fashionable digital paintings so it was an absolute no-brainer to ask her to design something to commemorate my 5 years working on FABRICOFMYLIFE. i think her images, which combine line drawings with mixed-media collage and watercolour inspirations, capture just the right balance between romantic realism and whimsical fantasy.

i’m absolutely delighted with the image she created for my blog – as my housemate squealed when she saw the image: “it’s you!!” i’m always amazed when an artist can capture the true essence of a person in their sketches, but that is exactly what emeline has done. be sure to check out her tumblr to see more wonderful examples of her work.

thank you so much emeline! x
