Fabric of my Life.

i can’t quite believe my little blog turns FIVE today – what a whirlwind it has been since i sat down to pen my first post all those years ago – and boy, have i enjoyed every single minute! thanks so much for sticking around you guys, and for all your kind words about the new layout and new profile illustration over the past few days.

it was hard to think about just how to celebrate this milestone and i certainly considered throwing another little cake party, but in light of my recent healthy eating kick and my love of a good brunch, throwing an #alprotops party seemed like the perfect thing to do!

for those of you unfamiliar with this new hashtag, the #alprotops campaign is all about shaking up your breakfast routine and experimenting with the toppings you add to your yoghurt base. i’ve long been a fan of alpro’s yoghurt range (the creamy vanilla bean version is my go-to staple) but they’ve recently added 2 new lovely flavours to the mix; strawberry with rhubarb and lemon & lime.

i broke out my fabulous new candy dipped dinnerware from tesco’s ss14 collection (can you believe these sherbet crush beauties are from a supermarket?!) and set about challenging my friends to create their favourite brunch treats. as the spring sunshine dappled my little kitchen we piled our bowls high with alpro yoghurt and mixed sliced banana with chia seeds, mango chunks with coconut dust, and pecan halves with blueberries until we found our winning concoctions.

can i just take a moment to wax lyrical about my new china set? my friends all cooed over it when i brought it out, and rightly so – it’s such a fun and playful set and worked perfectly for this little brunch party. all the pieces are sold in sets of 4 – one of each shade – and the cups were the perfect size for the lashings of  lemongrass & ginger tea i served up as we worked.

have you experimented with alpro’s new yoghurt range yet? i’d love to hear what your favourite topping combos are!
