Coastal capers

padstow1

you know when you’ve been on the most wonderful trip that you don’t ever want to end? that’s exactly how i felt about my little cornish jaunt to padstow with the delightful boden team last week with blogging pals willcarrie and kristabeland a host of lovely fashion journos.

from the glorious coastal scenery, rolling green hills, blazing sunshine and fabulous company, everything was as picture perfect as you might imagine. we went for an early morning fishing trip (all wearing prerequisite breton stripes and fabulous oversize check wellies*), foraged for edible flowers and vine-ripened tomatoes at the padstow kitchen garden, rambled our way across the cornish countryside, and took in stunning panoramic views of the padstow coastline, before spending the following day learning how to cook turbot and dress a lobster thermidor at seafood school.

we indulged in smoked salmon and kipper breakfasts, fried calamari lunches at rick stein’s fish & chips (where the chips were cooked in beef dripping – frankly i don’t think i could ever again eat chips that haven’t been cooked in beef dripping, they were just that darn good!) and plenty more fishy courses to round out the day at the seafood restaurant. we even had a little christmas in july preview of the new boden products for the festive season – lots of fabulous things coming soon folks!
