Fabric of my Life.

oh yeah.

i came across the dutch design studio mae engelgeer via april and may and was instantly smitten with the shaggy textured look of the yeah rug.

inspired by the berber and boucherouite style carpets with knotted and heavy wool feel, the design plays with varying heights and loops of wool in different blocks of tonal colour to create a soft playful design that just begs you to run your fingers across it. better yet, can you imagine how blissful it would be to slip your bare toes between the tufts first thing every morning… ?!

exploring the rest of amsterdam-based mae’s portfolio, the ish collection of mohair & merino wool blankets also caught my eye for their subdued pastel palette and zigzagged folk-inspired pattern, offset with raw, unrefined edges for an authentic craft appeal.

what do you think of mae’s fresh twist on eye-catching artisanal style?
