decorating for christmas is such a ritual isn’t it? this year i cranked up the christmas album from the cast of nashville (super cheesy, i know!), made myself a spicy dona chai latte and broke out a yummy bar of roasted almond chocolate to accompany my decorative styling, and somehow ended up shimmying all around the room like a crazy christmas nutter – oops!

i don’t have space for a tree in my bedroom, but my beautiful victorian fireplace has a mantelpiece above it which is the perfect place for setting up one-stop-shop for all things yuletide. this year i’ve added some sweet little decorations from anthropologie to last year’s scandi-style haul, including a cute little snowy lion to expand my christmas animals collection (my jonathan adler elephant from last year is still one of my favourite ornaments despite elephants not being especially seasonal…)

to complete the scene i tacked up the wrapping paper i screen-printed at wednesday’s pinterest x mr. porter christmas party with lovely craft designer zeena shah, which provides the perfect backdrop for my styled shelf don’t you think?

  1. It looks great! Lots of things on that fireplace, but nothing looks out of place. I especially like the car carrying a Christmas tree on its hood.
