a few days before i was struck down with the winter lurgy i received a beautiful parisian blue bed linen set from houseology, which perfectly picked out the blue stripe in my aegean summer linens and the stunning geometric print in my istanbul cushion from nina kullberg. there’s something so calming about deeper, darker blues in the bedroom in winter months, especially when paired with natural shades in tactile textures don’t you agree?
i’m thankful that i got around to swapping out my old bed linens for cosy knitted layers before the flu hit me hard, as being ill in beautiful surroundings with a mug of steaming hot coffee, a new copy of cereal and chocolate from melrose & morgan close to hand makes every sneeze just that little bit more bearable… atchooo!
p.s. have you read station eleven by emily st. john mandel? i’m halfway through just now – it’s totally gripping & gives an entirely new perspective on my opening statement in this post!
