sometimes the simplest ideas really are the best.
i was totally won over by this stylish minimalist photo frame i spotted at scp last week. designed by moebe, a danish brand who “design, produce and keep things simple,” this frame is made up of four pieces of oak and two pieces of plexiglass, held together by a rubber band. it sounds simple, it is simple, but it looks oh-so-very cool. the black elastic band that holds the components together even doubles as the cord from which to hang the frame on a wall – clever, right?
i particularly love the sentiment with which moebe describe their brand: “we focus on the essentials, try to stay curious and keep our thoughts analogue.” a sound philosophy to apply not just to design, but life in general i think.

Simplicity at its finest and it’s how it should be. Much to my dismay, my wife has recently taken to purchasing photo frames both single and collage style to match our red footstool from decur.co.uk. Maybe if i show her this post I can finally convince her to take them all down and go for something simple. (Wish me luck!)
