combining scandinavian and japanese craftsmanship and design, iittala’s first collaboration with esteemed fashion japanese fashion designer issey miyake, is designed to bring a new kind of harmony and balance into the home.
now available from skandium, the collection takes a playful approach to everyday processes and rituals, encouraging you to take pause and simply allow yourself to simply enjoy the moment as an act of wellbeing. the textile designs are based on issey miyake’s original folding and pleating techniques that have been incorporated in their clothing designs since late 1980s, and encourage a sensory exploration of the material through touch. the colour palette has been inspired by the awakening of spring and the blossoming of flowers, echoing the textile transformation from 2d to 3d that suggests a blooming blossom.
the whole collection is simply stunning, don’t you agree?
