Fabric of my Life.

combining a love of contemporary items designed ‘for the future’ with a nostalgia for ‘found’ items that cherish the past, interiors boutique future & found offer a beautifully curated selection of simple, stylish and aesthetically pleasing items for the home.

as gorgeous as it looks i’ve sadly not yet made it to their bricks and mortar store in north london’s tufnell park, but have instead whiled away many a lunch hour perusing their stylish edit online. founded by former home furnishings buyer andrea bates and inspired by her personal interest in the importance of colour, the store’s inventory is refreshed each season along strict colour palette guidelines to ensure a harmonious overall aesthetic. for spring summer 2016 this means plenty of monochrome and an abundance of grey, interwoven with bare scandi wood tones and a smattering of colour pops – just my cup of tea!

Future & Found Product Edit 01

a quick scout around the store had me adding oh-so-many items to my virtual shopping bag, wishing my credit card would let me flex some serious muscle. i love that the store has edited down the catalogs of some of my favourite scandi brands (hay, muuto, menu) to a few choice items which all work wonderfully together and form a coherent collection alongside smaller, independent designers and a few house products too.

the hey ho typographic art print by above & beyond is just crying out to be hung up in my living room, and i can totally see the concrete lamp by menu on my bedside table as a handy little reading light. the verso shelving ladder has also made its way high up my lust list!

instead, i settled on some beautiful dinnerware pieces from menu…

when i got my hands on these beautiful soft grey new norm dinner plates i knew that the perfect way to christen them would be with a little impromptu pancake party – i mean, is there really any better way to break in new crockery?

light, fluffy homemade pancakes (i used this dairy-free recipe from delicious mag) are my absolute favourite indulgence on a long lazy weekend; piled high on the plate and drizzled with maple syrup, with a side of blueberries or banana as an obligatory nod towards being healthy…

which items would you treat yourself to from future & found’s beautiful selection?

    1. Thanks so much lovely – the dinner service is soooooo nice and I know this is just the beginning! I’m going to need more bowls, the side plates, the storage jars.. EEK :)

  1. Gorgeous products and photos, Kate! Pancakes look scrummy :) I think I would definitely like that Hey Ho picture as well as the crockery. Future & Found is a really nice online destination and the shop itself looks great from the pics, although I’ve never visited myself.

    1. Thanks so much Antonia! I really must make the pilgrimage north to visit the shop although I may have to go without my credit card on me… hehe!

  2. Monochrome, grey, wood? Now we’re talking! ;-) This looks gorgeous and the pancakes make me want to run into the kitchen and make some for lunch now. x

  3. Wonderful styling and pics as always Kate. Those pancakes look delicious too. I think you made a great choice but must have been tricky given all the gorgeous things they stock.

  4. Gorgeous photos! I adore the Hey Ho print. It’s something I say a lot, accompanied by a shrug of the shoulders. Coincidentally, I’ve just had pancakes for supper … not quite as healthy as yours because I melted down an Easter egg to drizzle over them ;)

  5. I love the future & found shop, the displays are so beautifully curated. These plates are gorgeous, and as a dairy free gal, I’ve got to try that recipe! X
