one of the most wonderful things about the start of a new year is the influx of spring/summer collection imagery teasing the coming trends of the next season.
one such catalogue i look forward to every year is that of tine k home ss17, which never fails to lift me out of the january gloom and transport me to sunnier climes. this year’s offering was shot at stunning members-only retreat la granja, a farmstead set amongst ibiza’s pastoral inlands, showcasing classic iberian architecture and traditional moorish influences which perfectly suit tine k’s eponymous style of elegant bohemian simplicity.
last year i had the pleasure of staying at the new casa cook, which was abundantly decked out with tine k products, and her new ss17 range taps into the same emphasis on slowing down and enjoying daily life that the rhodes resort promoted. this simple bohemian approach is all about preserving and cherishing a down-to-earth way of living that embraces influences from many different societies and cultures, that echo through the multitude of moroccan handmade ceramics, vintage vietnamese jars, handwoven jute carpets, gauzy textiles and rattan furniture collections…
it is the contrast between the light and dark colours that creates style and atmosphere. the darker tones you often get from old objects, furniture and rugs from the far east. i love hand crafted interiors which are rich in history and soul. ~ tine
