Fabric of my Life.

wiwn, April

there’s something about the advent of spring that has me hankering after a denim and mustard yellow style palette – it’s such a dreamy colour combo, evocative of hazy summer days and time spent outdoors running through meadows in full bloom.

here are a few of the lovely pieces i’m lusting over right now:

1 / as soon as that little sun icon appears on the iphone weather app, out come the sunnies – and we’re lucky to have had some wonderful days full of sunshine in manchester the past few weeks, even if there has still been a bit of a nip in the air. these round fada wooden sunglasses from toast are super chic, with a wonderfully retro vibe.

2 / as soon as i stumbled upon dôen‘s dreamy sun-drenched instagram feed i knew i was going to set my heart on the majority of pieces from their new collection! while i would quite happily restock my entire wardrobe with their designs it’s the golden jane* blouse that has really has my heart racing. inspired by everyone’s favourite muse jane birkin (check!), this drapey, billowy blouse pays homage to the poetic, artistic spirit of the 1960s laurel canyon woman. i may have binge-watched one too many episodes of aquarius recently, but this is certainly the carefree vintage style i’m aspiring too right now..

3 / a denim miniskirt is a summer style staple but for some years now i’ve been lacking the perfect little denim number to wear throughout the season. this light blue, frayed hem one from olive looks to be the skirt my wardrobe has been calling out for; i love the a-line silhouette and slightly longer back – perfect for protecting your modesty!

4 / clad and cloth are a new brand on my fashion radar this spring and i’m loving their brand mission to “inspire women to be clothed in confidence and independence.” i’ve got my eye on this super-floaty above the clouds drop-waist dress which looks like the most comfortable thing in the world to wear, and would surely hide one too many ice cream cones a multitude of sins.

5 / bucket bags are so en trend right now and top of my lust list is this large woodé bag by inaden in this delicious rust red hue. made from embossed natural leather with drawstring clothing, it has a zipped leather pocket inside for securing your valuables (always a slight worry with this style of bag), and has been proudly handcrafted in africa.

6 / one of my fave discoveries in manchester has been object style in chorlton, a stylish boutique recommended to me by almost all of my mcr-based chums. i’ve fallen head-over-heels for this organic linen clemence pleat top which looks like it would be both super comfortable and incredibly versatile – a winning combo in my book!
