The Fab Flat: Posters & Prints

the quickest and easiest way to stamp your personality on your home is through the artwork you choose to display and now that i have a wide expanse of pure white unadulterated space to play with, i’m relishing the chance to find some beautiful art prints to adorn my new home.

i know some people can find it daunting – and expensive! – to begin adding artwork to their home but i’m a firm believer in following your heart when choosing artwork that speaks to you and, happily, there are more and more affordable online sites these days offering good quality posters and prints that can add an instant update to your home, whether you’re after an injection of colour, an inspirational quote, a classic reproduction or something unique, or at the very least, limited edition.

here are the main sites i’ve been checking out to source gorgeous printed artwork for my home:

desenio

for a one-stop shop of affordable artwork to suit all tastes, desenio pretty much tick every box! from atmospheric landscapes and luscious plants to moody monochromes and playful quotes, you’d be hard pressed not to find something to your style or budget here. i’ve a long wish list from the site but am edging towards to bohemian styling of this beautiful and evocative feathers print by tove frank, which will sit perfectly atop my new rattan cabinet.

blacklist

by dreamers for dreamers, is sydney-based design studio blacklist’s tagline and their beautiful selection of photographic and mixed-media art prints certainly have the dreamy aesthetic nailed down! i long to have this miracle palm art print in living room to bring a little bit of tropical escapism to rainy manchester, while this limited edition fade in summer art print would make a wonderful addition to the tranquil sanctuary i’m hoping to create in my bathroom.

paper collective

paper collective are a danish collaborative brand collaborating with designers, artists and illustrators to create inspirational and iconic graphic prints and products, while promoting great causes and charities. based on the founding principles of social responsibility, sustainability and strong creative partnerships, they have worked with some of my favourite artists and designers including norm architects, form us with love and julie pike, whose hazy, dreamlike prints – such as this plants on pink – i want to adorn every wall in my home..

king & mcgaw

i’ve spoken before of my love for king & mcgaw‘s quirky collection of iconic 20th century posters and cool graphic art prints and custom framing service so i couldn’t not include them in this little round-up! my andy warhol all is pretty print has already found a home in my new bedroom atop my chest of drawers, and i’m already thinking about adding this lovely twiggy print into the mix too – there’s something so wistful about a retro exhibition poster, don’t you think?

the poster club

the poster club is a copenhagen-based online store offering a unique handpicked selection of posters and art prints from both upcoming and established artists. this alvdans print by swedish photographer bodil bergqvist has already found its way into my home and i’ve also got my eye on several others by bergqvist – i just love her eye for capturing intimate moments of pure abandon.

want more? here are another five beautiful art prints i’m coveting:

one: the poster club // two: blacklist // three:  funktionalley // four:  skandivis // five:  desenio  //
