Discover the Dubrovnik Riviera.

I’ve long had the Dalmation Coast of Croatia on my bucket list for a summer holiday spent island-hopping across the Adriatic on a catamaran. Less on my radar – until now – was a trip to explore the Croatian mainland; namely, the Dubrovnik Riviera. At the southern tip of Croatia’s long coastline, Dubrovnik has long been known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, and offers a wonderful combination of culture, heritage and natural beauty – which makes it a fantastic destination

Delivering the perfect night’s sleep.

In my last post I shared my experience making pillows and duvets with Herbert Parkinson as part of a press trip with John Lewis & Partners. The next stop on our Northern adventure was Hornington Manor, set within the grounds of Harrison Spinks farm. The farm boasts 300 acres of beautiful Yorkshire pasture and arable land, and is home to a flock of Texel, Suffolk, Zwartble and Wensleydale sheep, which are reared in exchange for their woolly fleeces. The farm

Dreaming of a duvet day.

Back in early July I was invited on a very exciting press trip with John Lewis & Partners, planned around one of my favourite activities – sleep!  Better yet, the trip was up here in the North, and introduced us to the brilliant people who make John Lewis’ sleep products, showcasing the unique materials they use and the tradition and innovation that drives them. Our first stop was Lancashire – Darwen, to be precise – and the home of Herbert

Hotel Indigo.

Where style lives.

I’d not been to Madrid before and —bemusing to me now— it had never been a city that registered high up on my (admittedly already ridiculously long) must-visit list. Strange, because as soon as I was invited (by Palladium Hotel Group, who open a new hotel concept brand in the city later this month), I started to picture Madrid in my mind’s-eye and conjured up the nostalgic and melancholic world of many of my favourite Pedro Almodóvar movies (Volver, Julieta,

A better everyday life.

Hands up if you have an item of IKEA furniture in your home.  Silly question; who doesn’t?!   I hadn’t realised until moving up to Manchester that one of my new local IKEA stores in Warrington, Cheshire, was actually the first to open in the UK, back in October 1987.   Growing up in South London my first experience of the big Swedish blue-and-yellow store was when the Croydon outpost opened in the early 90s on the site of the
