A dog’s day out.

One of the things I’ve come to love most about Manchester is just how dog friendly a city it is! I noticed it long before little Paco came into our lives. The number of small dogs nestled at the feet of their owners in accomodating coffee shops, riding the tram, or taking a stroll along New Islington Marina on their way to the dog park. As a city with more and more pet-friendly apartments (and hotels!) popping up all around,

Little Italy in Alty.

Cold winter nights always have me craving comfort food and —bar shepherds’ pie and apple crumble— pizza and roast chicken are both high up there on the comfort charts for me! So when I was invited along for a review meal at one of Altrincham’s most popular Italian restaurants, Tre Ciccio, I was instantly sold on two of their signature dishes: traditional Neopolitan pizza (the best in the city I’d been told!) and pollo scucchiato – marinated slow roasted chicken

From Peru, with love.

It’s been a few years now since I embarked upon some serious wanderlust-inducing travel, but the beauty of living in such a vibrant and eclectic city like Manchester is that sometimes you don’t have to travel too far to be tantalised by the flavours of far-flung destinations.  Last weekend I was invited along to experience the new all-day South American dining concept at  Peru Perdu, the latest restaurant to take over at Whitworth Locke’s Cotton Factory restaurant space. The ethos

In putting together this round-up I’ve been scrolling back through my photostream, vividly recalling each fabulous meal (both the food and the company!), which can only really be a validation of why I feel compelled (like every other milennial, lol) to take snaps of my food before eating.   I’m going to put together a few meal-specific round-ups

Hotel Indigo.

Now that I’m settled up in Manchester, I’m often asked by friends and family to recommend a great place for them to stay in the city when they visit. But given that I live here and don’t have need to stay in a hotel myself, I’ve never been able to give a tried-and-tested answer.. until now!  I was recently invited along by Hotel Indigo to spend the night in their new Victoria Station outpost, and experience a slap-up three-course dinner

Sunset vibes.

Welcome to your new favourite beach bar in Manchester.  Yes, you read that right.   Describing itself as “a stylish but laid back slice of modern Australian life, down-under in Manchester,” Australasia has always been a port-of-call on a grey day for an injection of sunset coast vibes, but earlier this month their new terrace bar Sunset opened and immediately set the local Instagram community alight.   The spectacular decor errs on just the right side of a frothy bubblegum
